Babiyachaur (Myagdi), October 22, 2017: Construction of public toilets has begun at Pun Hill, the popular tourist destination in Myagdi.

This site lies in Annapurna Rural Municipality -6 of Myagdi at an altitude of 3,210 meters above the sea-level and is famous for observing the splendid views of sunrise and mountain range.

On the initiatives of local hotel entrepreneurs, construction of three public restrooms has begun here which welcomes some 500-700 tourists from home and abroad every day. But, tourists arriving here are facing difficulty to answer the nature’s call due to lack of toilets, according to Ghorepani Hotel Management subcommittee vice chair Sushil Pun.

An entrance to the Pun Hill from Ghodepani, the location where the Nepal Telecom’s tower has been placed and the Pun Hill premises have been chosen for constructing restrooms, targeting tourists from general and VIPs, as stated by a local hotel entrepreneur Teksar Buddhuja.

There is a target to make the all three toilets ready for use within the next six months and the currently preparations are going on to do necessary for rainwater harvesting as the site lacks the natural source of water.

Tourists flock here mainly in October-November, February-March and in April to witness the magnificent view of sunrise.
