Inaruwa, 28 Feb: The number of dolphins is decreasing in the Saptakoshi River.

As per the count carried out from Chatara to main gate of the Koshi Barrage in 2009, there were a total of 12 dolphins. But, the number is found declined to seven in 2014.

According to Conservation Officer at the Koshitappu Wildlife Reserve, Sunsari, Ananath Baral, use of readymade net by locals for fishing is one of the causes behind the decrease of dolphins.
