Global Youth Forum starts in Dhulikhel to commemorate International Youth Day

Kathmandu, August 8, 2017: On the occasion of International Youth Day, a special program, Global Youth Forum has started in Dhulikhel, Kavre from today. Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare, Asha Koirala, inaugurated the event.

The program is being organized by National Youth Council in collaboration with Jagriti Child and Youth Concern Nepal (JCYCN), Track Nepal, Youth Federation for World Peace(YFWP), Sirjanshil Samaj, and Sarokar Samaj Nepal among various other youth organizations.

In the program, minister Koirala, also the Chief Guest, said that social and economic transformation is impossible without the direct involvement of youths. She further mentioned that the ministry will always be concerned about youth issues.

As many as 55 youth delegates from 10 different countries are participating the conference that will run for four days.

Social leader and President of JCYCN, Tilottam Paudel, shared that the event will discuss the necessity of entrepreneurship for youth, and seeks to promote engagement of youth in promoting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The program also strives to encourage dialogue amongst young leaders, and create the next generation of nonviolent peacemakers.

The program will see creative workshops and paper presentation from delegates and resources persons, along with cooperative-games, action-based activities, and volunteer action.

The organizers have also informed that participating youth delegates will be taken on a tour to various touristic destinations around.
