With getting the honor at the young age of 19 years, Mandal has also become the youngest MVP of the year

Kathmandu, January 2, 2017: Glocal Teen Hero 2015 finalist Ravi Mandal has been recognized with the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) Award 2017. Mandal was awarded for his outstanding contributions in the Microsoft Azure technical communities during the past year.

The award is given to exceptional technical community leaders who share their remarkable passion, real-world knowledge, and technical expertise with others through demonstration of exemplary commitment, and provides them with an opportunity to celebrate and honor their significant contributions.

After getting the honor, Mandal expressed his happiness and excitement about the upcoming days of being a Microsoft MVP. “Being an MVP adds more responsibility towards the commitment I have done. I am happy to join the MVP Community and more excited with the fact that this will help me connect to international audiences and technical experts,” he said after winning the award.

Mandal, 19, is currently working as a Software Developer at Unlimited Technology Pvt. Ltd. He primarily works on iOS, ASP.NET and Microsoft Azure platforms. Passionate in science and technology since his childhood, his journey in software development started when he was just 12 years old.

As of late, he is leading a local tech community, Nepal Cloud User Group, that organizes various meetups, trainings, workshops on a monthly basis. He has also been active on writing blogs, spoken in different technical events, and has given sessions to different levels of audiences and organized workshops.

There are approx. 4000 MVPs all around the world. And, being an MVP, it provides them the exposure to all those tech experts which helps them do more quality events, learn new things and build a network with people working in same as well as different tech areas. MVPs can directly interact with Microsoft to gain the insights of the product and services being developed and even provide feedbacks to it. They can also get an early access to the products and services and can help Microsoft build the services even better. A MVP also gets an MSDN account which gives them access to all Microsoft products till the date.

“Microsoft MVP award will help me in the commitment I have made i.e. to help build a better tech community in the IT industry of Nepal,” he told to Glocal Khabar. “Personally, this will help me grow in terms of the knowledge and skills I have. In the community perspective, this will help me do more quality events, workshops, trainings by which people who are learning cloud computing and related technology or working on it will be benefited as well. Ultimately, the whole industry will grow gradually creating more opportunities and better-skilled professionals,” he added.

With getting the honor at the young age of 19 years, Mandal has also become the youngest person to get the award for the year 2017.

For his work in the app development sector in Nepal, Mandal was recognized as one of the top 6 finalists of Glocal Teen Hero 2015.
