He said the Kathmanduites can know about the facilities and services provided by the metropolis, its authority, responsibility and activities with the help of the apps on their smart phones sitting at their homes.

Speaking on the occasion, deputy mayor Ms Hari Prabha Khadgi (Shrestha) spoke of the need of promoting the use of information technology for reaching all information to the people.

Likewise, KMC executive officer Dhaniram Poudel said the metropolitan city is behind in terms of use of IT and it has to do much in this sector, and the launching of the apps was only the beginning.

KMC has also developed a system of group SMS service by which information can be send to 17,443 mobile phones at one time.
