King’s College set to host 16th International Entrepreneurship Forum (IEF) Conference from Sept 14

Kathmandu, September 10, 2017: King’s College has announced to host 16th International Entrepreneurship Forum (IEF) Conference at Hotel Radisson, Kathmandu from 14-16 September, 2017. The college informed about the event amid a press conference organized in the capital today.

Initiated in 2001 from Naples of Italy, the annual IEF Conference has already been organized in countries including, China, India, South Africa, Colombia, Turkey, Bahrain, Italy, Lithuania and Latvia, and for the first time, is being held in Nepal.

The college has joined hands with Essex Business School, London, to organize the three day-long conference with the theme ‘Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Economic Development’.

Special Attractions

The 3-day conference will include plenary and panel sessions, presentations and discussions of academic research, policy driven and reflective practitioner-oriented papers, empathy and networking interlude, social interaction and awards for best papers.

Apart from presentations, deliberations, and discussions, the Conference will also feature 13 stalls where the 10 best entrepreneurial products under the MEDEP will be showcased; while five videos relating to the entrepreneurial journey of aspiring and successful entrepreneurs and enterprises will also be screened.

“A total of 60 papers, including 30 international papers, based on sub-themes of entrepreneurship versus sustainable entrepreneurship, values of sustainable entrepreneurship, business start-up, and sustainable entrepreneurship among others will be presented during the Conference,” said King’s College in a press-statement.

Meanwhile, three best papers presented at the conference are going to be awarded USD 100 each, and will be published in two renowned international business journals.

Who are participating the conference?

As many as 600 Nepali and foreign participants including academicians, students, entrepreneurs, experts, researchers and practitioners from corporate houses, multilateral and bilateral partners from over 20 countries are set to attend the conference.

“Because of the impression and impact that we made last year by hosting International Conference on Social Entrepreneurship, we have been chosen to host the IEF Conference,” said King’s College Principal, Narottam Aryal, “We believe this opportunity in itself is a big reward to King’s College for its unflinching efforts towards the path of development and promotion of entrepreneurship in Nepal.”

He also said that the organization of conference like this having global impact and long history will help to add energy to the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Nepal.

King’s College has been offering special MBA course on Entrepreneurship while with the activities like establishment of Yunus Social Entrepreneurship Center, Creation of Incubation Center and organization of annual International Conference on Social Entrepreneurship has been making a remarkable impact in the area of entrepreneurship.
