Lalitpur, March 17, 2016: Lalitpur town area, one of the ancient towns in the Kathmandu Valley, would be made a model town for handicraft.

At a programme organised by the Lalitpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Lalitpur on Thursday to mark its 49th anniversary, Minister for Commerce Deepak Bohara said that tourism in Lalitpur would not foster if the town was not declared a model town for handicraft as the town had many artisans well versed with handicraft.

Minister Bohara argued that in order to ink a steadfast trade agreement with Bhutan, a special committee comprising entrepreneurs could be set up on the behalf of the government for the same.

Similarly, Senior Vice-President of the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Bhawani Rana pledged that the entrepreneurs were ready to invest in any sector provided the government helped create investment-friendly climate.

Likewise, Fubu Tshering, Secretary General of the Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that he was highly impressed by Nepal making strides in the agriculture sector.
