Surkhet,30 Dec, 2014: A large plot of land registered in the name of late King Birendra is lying unused. It was said a mansion was to be built for the former monarch on this plot.
The land plot with an area of 34 bighas at Latikoili VDC in the district was said to be used for constructing the property when it was said to be brought under the ownership of the Nepal Trust after 2062/63 movement.
Though the land plots in different places of the country under the ownership of the late King Birendra were said to be brought under the ownership of Nepal Trust, this land is still in the name of the late King, said survey officer at the District Survey Office, Surkhet Menaka Khadka.
