The Global Youth Leaders Forum is currently inviting applicants from across the globe with an aim to support young leaders in the world by giving them the tools and methods they need in their work for a sustainable and peaceful society.

Background:

Youth constitute one-third of world’s total population, and it is often seen that youth are one of the major actors of conflict or any sort of political changes along with peace building process. However, youth most of the time, are considered as trouble makers but not peace makers.

Equally, youth constitute a growing proportion of world’s population with larger numbers than ever before and they will shape the world of tomorrow. The world has been experiencing a rapid development in social and economic spheres over the course of recent decades.

Nevertheless, significant numbers of youth across the world are facing a variety of obstacles in their access to employment, education, health care, and other resources. Youth of this region often remain at the margin with regard to the participation in the creation of development policies. The inclusion of youth in decision-making is unsatisfactory. Many researchers have shown that these problems are responsible for the engagements of youth in risky behavior. Such unfavorable situation may lead to the involvement of youths themselves in wrong or illegal practices or used by others to do so. The same region is responsible for the low outcome in controlling and eliminating terrorism and criminal activities.

In this context, Global Youth Leaders Forum is being organized to provide a platform for the young people to discuss, understand, share, find solutions and develop strategies on issues pertaining the active citizenship, empowering girls & women, provide voice to the disabled, and look beyond man-made barriers of race, religion and nationalities for common good of all. The programme will bring and allow the young people from different countries to exchange views, share experiences on other issues like gender equality, environment, nonviolence, peace, education, women, and reflect together.
