‘Let’s Build a Secure Nepal’

Kathmandu, August 7, 2017: Information Security Response Team Nepal on August 5, Saturday held a cyber awareness program entitled ‘Let’s Build Secure Nepal’. The program sought to act against protection of cyber threats by making people aware and help society to minimize cyber security risk.

“Development of e-governance in Nepal has raised information security to crucial level and every organization must take is seriously,” expressed Dr. Subarna Shakya, a legend ICT personality, on the occasion.

Similarly, Nepal Rastra Bank’s Deputy Director Prahalad Giri informed Nepali banking system is dependent on virtual currency and cash sales. He said both service provider and consumer must be aware on information security and influenced comprehensive research is important on cyber security.

Likewise, Chairman of Internet Society Nepal Bikram Shrestha enlisted that every organization must have participation in digital media security and there must be strong policies and programs implemented thoroughly.

Various other experts and personalities representing different organizations also spoke about cyber-security in Nepal, and expressed their full supports on upcoming cyber awareness programs and events.

Meanwhile, a new 17- members working committee was elected under the Presidentship of Chiranjibi Adhikari. The committee also enlisted various plans and policies for next fiscal for awareness programs on cyber security.
