Lumbini welcomes dignitaries of different countries in 2014

Rupandedhi, 5th January, 2015 : Dignitaries from different countries have visited Lumbini in 2014.

 

The visit of the dignitaries to the Buddhist shrine has supported in publicising the religious, cultural and archeological importance of Lumbini in the world, said Ajitman Tamang, the Member Secretary of the Lumbini Development Trust.

the People’s Republic of China, Losang Jamcan, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Rae, Bollywood Superstar Aamir Khan, Democratic leader of Myanmar Aung San Suu-ki, Cambodian Minister for Education, and Sri Lankan Minister for Home Affairs, among others visited the various shrines related to Buddhism in Lumbini.

 

Rajapakshe, who arrived Kathmandu to participate in the 18th SAARC Summit held in Kathmandu on November 26 and 27, visited Lumbini on 25 November 2014, while Indian Ambassador Rae on December 10, and Luo on November 29.

 

Rajapakshe also inaugurated recently constructed Dharmashala (a religious guest house) and a bridge during his visit to Lumbini. He assured of financial support for the development of the Lumbini in the days ahead.

 

The distinguished figures have visited Lumbini based Mayadevi temple, the Ashoka Pillar, and other important shrines.
