Momo FC claims first NSC futsal tournament 2017 (Photo Feature)

Butwal, January 11, 2017: Momo Football Club has bagged the first U-19 Students’ Futsal Tournament organized by Nepalese Students’ Club (NSC) on January 7, 2017. The club had claimed the gold medal after leaving the Manigarm FC defeated by 3-1 in the finals of the competition held at Lumbini Futsal Arena, Butwal.

The tournament had seen a participation of 16 teams altogether.

Anish Shrestha shone in the finals, making Momo FC victorious to lift the trophy against the giant team, Manigram FC . The club had made the unassailable 6-2 victory against the Khukuri FC in the second semis to meet the Manigram FC in the finals. Whereas, the Manigram FC had made a narrow escape in the first semis marking a 1-0 lead over the Butwal Youth Society FC.

For the victory, Momo FC was rewarded with the cash prize of Rs 12,000, certificate, medal, trophy, and other gift hampers including free processing service worth Rs 20,000 for each player by The Next Education Consultancy, the main sponsor for the competition.

Meanwhile, the runner-up Manigram FC was awarded Rs 8000, certificate, medal, trophy and other gift hampers from the main sponsor.

Sushan Bajracharya was declared the best goalkeeper of the tournament whereas the Ritesh Thapa was announced the best player. Similarly, Jitesh Gurung was rewarded with the highest scorer title.

Speaking amidst the award ceremony, Sanjog Sharma, Sports panel coordinator of NSC said that they will be coming up with the further editions of the tournament along with hosting similar competitions on days ahead.
