Kathmandu, January 30, 2018:  To mark the 56th National Nursing Day, Nursing Association of Nepal (NAN) organized a rally of nurses in Kathmandu. More than 1,500 nurses, health workers and nurses participated in the rally. The main theme of the rally was ‘Unite nurses for professionalism’

Ganga Thapa, the acting president of NAN said, “We have been raising our voice for the rights of nurses in the country. As there are thousands of nurses working in the private sector for free of cost, they have been demoralized and low pay is the main problem. We are waiting for a distinct division with rights. The event is structured to remind the government about our demands.”

During the rally, members claimed that the right of nurses working at hospitals across the country needs to be certified. The nurses and health specialists demanded an end to unfair action in their profession as well as equal pay in the private and government hospitals.Nursing Day 1 - Glocal Khabar
