Ncell launches 4G/LTE service from today, provides 1GB data for free on the occasion

Kathmandu, June 1, 2017: Ncell customers can now enjoy the much-awaited fourth generation (4G) service. The leading GSM telecommunication service provider in the country announced the launch of 4G/LTE service from today itself (June 1), enabling its customers to access high-speed mobile broadband connectivity.

All the users possessing USIM with 4G compatible handset will be able to experience the 4G from Thursday (June 1) onward in the Kathmandu Valley, including Nagarkot, and Banepa and Dhulikhel.

“We are excited about all great impact that 4G/LTE is set to bring to the people and the country. We remain committed to contribute to achieve the national goal of Digital Nepal,” a statement issued by Ncell on Thursday quotes its Managing Director Simon Perkins as saying.

The company is also planning and testing 4G service in 40 other cities nationwide, embracing a target that 15% of the population have access to 4G coverage within 2017.

The 4G /LTE offers better bandwidth, enabling customers to use more applications on mobile devices, provides real-time sharing of large files and media streaming, and immediate delivery of time-sensitive data. It empowers ICT industry, technopreneurs, media and other industries, contributing to put the economy on a higher growth trajectory.

To be connected with the new technology and get benefited from it, customers can replace their existing SIM card with 4G compatible USIM for free of charges from nearby Ncell Centres or new customers can subscribe SIM.

On the occasion of the launch of the new technology, Ncell on Thursday is providing 1GB data with the validity of three days for free to the customers using 4G on the launch day (June 1).
