Nepal U-16 enters into semis of ACC U-16 Eastern Region tournament

Kathmandu, December 14, 2017: Nepali U-16 side registered an easy win of 338 runs against Myanmar U-16 at ACC U-16 Eastern Region tournament in Thailand.

A splendid performance from Nepali bowlers packed the chasing side in just 13 runs. Narayan Joshi, conceding just one run after bowling three overs, took four wickets in the single over. Similarly, Mekh Bahadur Sen Thapa (four) and Bishal Bikram KC (one) contributed to bowl out Myanmar after 11.3 overs.

The whole Myanmar team was able to score six runs; remaining coming from the extras.

After winning the toss, Nepali team elected to bat first to give a massive target of 351 runs. Skipper Rit Gautam introduced himself as a new sensation in Nepali cricket as he managed to score 106 runs playing 78 balls. Tritharaj Dash (64), Bishal Bikram KC (42), Kushal Malla (36) and Subash Airee (17) took Nepal to a strong position in the first inning.

Nepal has qualified in the semi-finals as a group winner and will be playing against Malaysia to secure the place in finals.
