Pratik Bhandari wins the National Essay Competition 2017

Kathmandu, December 4, 2017: Pratik Bhandari from The Times International H.S. School has been awarded with the cash prize of Rs. 50,000 for standing first position in the National Essay Competition 2017 organized by Landmark Education and Macquarie University in partnership with Glocal Pvt. Ltd. Similarly, Ankur Singh Thapa from St. Xavier’s College won the cash prize of Rs. 30000 and Rhitu Thapa from DAV College bagged the cash prize of Rs.20000. They stood first-runner up and second-runner up respectively.

Sweta Dhakal from SOS Hermann Gmeiner, Bharatpur and Ayush Jha from Chelsea International Academy were also given certificate for being top 5 finalists in the competition.

As many as 120 essays on the title ‘Education for Development’ were received and among which the jury panel sorted out five excellent essays. The top 5 essays were then judged by Macquarie University for the ranking of the winners.

After the ceremony held at Hyatt Regency, Dr. Sherman Young, VC of Macquarie University, Australia expressed his delight, “We were overwhelmed with the number of participants and the quality of ideas that they have demonstrated in their essays. Each essay reflects the sense of realization among high school students regarding the necessity of educated country for development.”
