Kathmandu, November 2, 2016: Indian President Pranab Mukherjee arrived in Kathmandu on a three-day state visit at the invitation of President Bidya Devi Bhandari.
He landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport at 12:30 pm on a speical aircraft  of the Indian Airforce.
President Bhandari received President Mukherjee at the TIA.
It is a period of 18 years that an Indian President has visited Nepal. The last Indian President to visit Nepal was KR Narayanan on May 28, 1998.
The government has announced a public holiday in honour of the visiting Indian President.
