Principal of Baglung-based school resigns to take part in election

Baglung, April 10, 2017: A principal of a local school at Baglung Municipality-1 has resigned to become a candidate in the local elections.

Mamata Devi Sharma left her job as the principal of Rudrepipal Secondary School, a post she had been holding for the past 17 years.

Sharma submitted her resignation to District Education Officer, Bishnu Prasad Mishra, on Sunday. 44-year-old Sharma has been listed as an aspirant for the top job in Baglung Municipality from CPN-UML ticket.

“I have worked in the teaching profession with devotion for 23 years, now I will become a soldier of the party,” Sharma confided.

The school has an enrolment of 500 students who are taught under the English medium. To attract students towards community schools, Sharma even admitted her children, who were enrolled at a private institute, in the school.
