Kathmandu, June 20, 2018: Rato Bangala Debate Club is organising RBS Debates 2018 from June 22nd to June 25th. This debate tournament is organised in association with Debate Network Nepal (DNN), a non profit organisation aimed at promoting and institutionalising Debate culture in Nepal. RBS Debates is also in association with Independent University of Bangladesh (IUB), a leading university in Bangladesh and Asia. Both the organisations have produced top class debaters that compete every year inside the respective countries and abroad.
As co-conveners, RBS Debates has Mr. Pragyan Acharya and Ms. Anamica Khadgi, the president and the club director of RBS Debate Club respectively. Similarly, Ms. Alisha Bade Shrestha, the ex senior adjudicator and Mr. Prajesh Aryal, the mentor of the club are taking the respective roles of tournament directors. Mr. Ankit Bhatta, the club director and Mr. Vishad Onta, the secretary are serving as the head of logistics. Ms. Anusuya Thapa, another club director is serving in the motions committee with Brian Wong from Oxford University and Mr. Rayaan Ibtesham Chowdhury from IUB along with Mr. Pawan Adhikari and Mr. Milan Bishwakarma from DNN. The socials, marketing and IT departments are handled by Mr. Sujhan Ghimire, the ex Vice President of RBSDC. Similarly, as tab director and the head of registrations, the tournament will have Mr. Sanket Paudel, the secretary of RBSDC.
RBD Debates, sponsored by Global Reach Consultancy, Patan Books Shop, Taalo and Learning One O One is the first debate tournament organised by RBSDC being held at Rato Bangala School, Patan Dhoka and will be organised in WSDC format. The tournament has Glocal Khabar as its online media partners and AT Burger as the socials supporter. The debates and discussions witnessed will indeed be heated and meaningful.
