Rukum, January 18, 2018: The Aathbiskot Municipality in Rukum has initiated a plan to limit demise rate among mothers, newborn children, and labor entanglements. Rukum is all set to provide free emergency ambulance services for pregnant women.

As stated by the Municipality Mayor Gorakh Bahadur KC, the administration was in a dire need of ambulances as many pregnant women of the area cannot make it to the hospital in the time of need. In order to initiate the service, 2 ambulances have been brought in the district. According to KC, numerous women were discovered experiencing uterine prolapse and pelvic/ lower abdominal pain.

Furthermore, he included that the free ambulance service will enable women to get to a hospital on time for treatment for different diseases. In the process, the Municipality has begun a crusade to provide vegetable seeds to the pregnant women who visit health institutions for inoculation. The drive intends to enhance the strength of pregnant women and their infants in order to get full vaccination scope in the region.

The Municipality additionally conveys rice, oil, flavors and vegetable seeds worth Rs 2,000 to each mother who visits a town health unit set up by the region for birth enrollment within 35 days of birth. It has set up a town health unit at different 14 locations in the area for giving health administration to pregnant women and for birth enlistment.
