Kathmandu, March 7, 2018: With the intention of managing solid waste around the premises of Balkumari Temple, the Social Club of Kathmandu University School of Management organized a ‘Neighborhood Cleanliness Campaign’ on March 3, 2018.

The event witnessed an enthusiastic participation from 30 students including president of Student Welfare Council, club members, and other volunteers. The local residents were also seen taking a keen interest in the cleanliness campaign. The major highlight of the event was the inauguration that was done by respected Dean Prof. Dr. Bijay KC himself.

During the event, 20 dustbins were placed in different locations in a radius of 400 meters from the college premises. The program was conducted under the full consent of ward office that has now provided an assurance to become more conscious about solid waste management in the area.

Saniksha Bade, Vice Co-ordinator of Social Club mentioned, “Through this event, we not only exhibited our responsibility towards the environment but also developed a sense of responsibility within ourselves towards protecting our natural habitat. Our social club might be small in size but we believe it is through small little steps that huge signs of progress are made.”

The day-long event came to a conclusion with a cleaner environment. Students of KUSOM conduct such activities on a regular basis with the motive of giving back to the society and inhibiting a sense of corporate social responsibility.
