China, February 7, 2018: Xue Minxiu, an 81-year-old student has received an undergraduate diploma in E-commerce from China’s Tianjin University, on February 4, 2018.
She officially registered in the e-commerce undergraduate course in modern distance education at Tianjin University in March 2014 at the age of 77. She tried six times before passing the online examination and received her diploma.
In a ceremony held at the university she mentioned, “The meaning of life is to repeatedly challenge myself and progress myself, so I want to thank Tianjin University for giving me this precious opportunity to make the dreams that weren’t completed at an early age become a reality. Studying makes me happy and it is always rewarding.”
Despite all the privation she practiced when studying, she grew wisdom from setbacks and become tougher. In order to concentrate and not let her attention divert, she didn’t switch on her television for four years. She praises modern distance education, which provided her with the means to earn a diploma degree and. Xue is a very intelligent student and she also knows five languages. In her spare time, she likes to take photographs, skate, and swim.
