Teach For Nepal initiates National Campaign to motivate rural community children

Kathmandu, December 2, 2018: Teach For Nepal continues its National campaign ‘One day in a classroom’ with the belief that one day, one moment can change the life of children. The campaign started from December 2nd, 2018, and will continue for two weeks in 51 public schools in Lalitpur, Sindhupalchowk, Dhanusa, Lamjung, Parsa and Dang.

More than a hundred guests from different sectors will be teaching a class in the schools where Teach For Nepal Fellows work as change agents in the campaign. This year actors, journalists, diplomats, personalities from the government sector, business persons, social activists, politicians, members house of representatives and different leaders are participating in the campaign.

Explaining the objective of the program, Teach For Nepal’s One Day in A Classroom’s program coordinator, Nawang Sherpa said, “The kids with whom we work can have access to many opportunities if we provide them with good exposure from leaders of various sectors.” Similarly, Teach For Nepal’s CEO, Shisir Khanal expressed, “Education system should not only limit to the curriculum.” He further adds, “Teach For Nepal is committed to expanding the thinking of our children.”

On the other hand, Prajwal Khadka, Partnership Manager at Teach For Nepal mentioned,” In the last three years, we’ve found children are hugely influenced by the guest’s and have seen changes in their behaviour. The horizon of children’s knowledge has expanded through the program.”
