A 19-years-old boy hailing from Gaur Municipality, Rautahat, Nivesh Kumar is a television reporter currently working in AP1 Television. A passionate journalist in the making, Nivesh looks after the social issues oriented audio-visual reports in the channel. With this, he aspires to give positive and constructive messages to the society.

He has also been reporting on various political and crime issues including sports.

Nivesh says, he has been working hard to understand the socio-cultural, economic, political and psychological condition of Nepalese society. “Without understanding the grass level of the society, we can’t even think of making any big change which can be an example for the spectators. Meeting New people, doing research and monitoring national and international activities are the most happening activities for this day which will make me perfect to do creative and change making works for my society and my nation,” he shares.

In the span of next five years, he aims to be seen working to stand himself out as a journalist with brilliant critical mind, constructive knowledge, model program host, and a news anchor among the audience. “And I will be a role model for the students of this field by then,” he says.

Currently working in a television, he wants to expand his field of working to radio, newspaper, and magazines as well in the upcoming days. He wants to teach journalism to the interested and enthusiastic students who have the passion to become a star in this field. Similarly, he wants to become an influential person to drive many youths into journalism. He wants to start his own online media from next year.

He wants to stand as a tall example to all those who fear to stand up for their passion and live their dream due to different barriers.

Nivesh Kumar was selected among the 20 brightest young entrepreneurs, innovators and game changers below the age of 20 in Nepal, for the year 2017. This annual list is the ultimate honor roll of young game changers reshaping Nepal for the better. The platform seeks to encourage the youths to share their initiation, creativity, and enthusiasm which will then motivate them and more of the other youths in the nation to develop an entrepreneurial thinking.
