Training programme begins for Leadership Skills Development and Drug Awareness

Kathmandu, April 28, 2017: A training programme has kicked-off in Devchuli Municipality of Nawalparasi for the leadership development of school students in the area and aware them about the problem of drug addiction.

The programme is being organized with an objective of associating them in child-clubs by developing their leadership skills, along with involving them in a campaign against drug addiction.

Man Bahadur Khadka, Executive Officer of the Devchuli Municipality, inaugurated the training amidst a ceremony this morning. The programme was attended by Administrative Officer of the municipality, chief of Social and Environment Department, child-friendly facilitator, environment expert, and teacher representatives.

In today’s session, the participants were facilitated on leadership development, its importance, qualities of a good leader, child rights, among various other topics.

Child-friendly facilitator of Devchuli Municipality, Mr. Deepak Sharma informed that the participants will be trained about the role of children in reducing drug addiction and how to move ahead in tomorrow’s session.

As many as 60 students from grades 8, 9 and 10 from various schools in the municipality are participating the training.
