The UNICEF Innovation Fund has called for application from early stage for profit startups working on the potential of helping humanity through the use of drones. The selected startups will receive seed funding, technical assistance and drone corridors at the expense of the UN body for testing the prototypes.
To be eligible to apply for the fund, the startup should be registered as a private company in a UNICEF Programme country and working on open source technology solutions or willing to be open-source under the following license or their equivalent: BSD(Software), CERN ( hardware), or CC-BY (content). Apart from these, the applicants should have an existing prototype of the solution with promising results from initial pilots and having the potential to impact the lives of children positively.
