On his way of making commercial drones in Nepal – Story of Bijay Acharya

Bijay Acharya’s journey into robotics and invention began as early as from his eighth grade. He had built a portable fan by that time.

Then after, he made a drone and a smart car, and his journey moved forward. Recently, together with his friends, he made a ‘SMART HOUSE WITH DRONE’ and exhibited it at Prithvi Narayan Campus, Pokhara.

Currently he is working on a drone and machines that can be launched commercially with lots of applications.

Having come from a lower middle-class family, Acharya had completed his secondary school from a community school in Pokhara. He then joined +2 science for higher education, which he has recently passed.

He has an avid interest in building drones and other devices. “When I was in grade 8, I had built my first portable fan. I attended science exhibition organized by Indra Rajya Laxmi Secondary School representing the fan. Many people had given me amazing and encouraging feedbacks,” Acharya shared to Glocal Khabar.

He has then built drones, smart cars and much more. “I, along with my friends from college, had made a SMART HOUSE WITH DRONE, and participated in the Science Exhibition programme-2073 held at Prithvi Narayan Campus on 3rd and 4th of Poush organized by Awareness Group of Technical Science (AGTS). People were amazed seeing our products,” Acharya shared with enthusiasm.

“My goal is to build that sorts of drones and other machines that can be launched commercially, and a common man also can take service from,” he shares.

Till now, he has conducted various awareness programs about contemporary technologies in remote areas. He has tried to help the students and motivated in the area of Technology and Electronics. “But, I don’t want to stop here. I hope, I have got enough inspiration within me to continue this work in the future. I want to become a teenage changemaker from Nepal,” he expresses.

“Every time when I fail, I do more hard work and I promise to work harder till I finish the work. I always try to get self-motivated for hard work. Whenever, I get deviated from my work, I always ask myself a question, ‘Are your excuses more important than your dreams?’,” he shares his feelings.

“I have a dream to serve my country by establishing myself as a Mechanical Engineer in the future, and show my talent. I want to serve my country and make it perform better. There are many children in Nepal who have talents and I want to help and inspire them. I want to make my country renowned,” he shares with determination.
