Kathmandu, March 8, 2018: Marking the International Women’s Day, Hyatt Regency Kathmandu in association with Media 9 Pvt Ltd organized an award ceremony ‘WOW Women Achievers Award 2018’ on March 6, 2018 in Kathmandu. The award ceremony was hosted to honor women professionals from various sectors for their achievements and remarkable contribution in the respective field.
The ceremony was inaugurated with panel discussion chaired by Amuda Mishra, the Founder and Executive Director of Ujyalo Foundation. Samiksha Rai, Founder of Pack My Lunch, motivational speaker and Founder of Blind Rocks Shristi KC, singer songwriter Samriddhi Rai, surgeon Dr. Tseten Yonjan Tamang, Miss Nepal 2010 Sadichha Shrestha and politician Ranju Darshana were among the panelist.
Dr. Tseten Yonjan Tamang was awarded with ‘Inspiring Woman of the Year’. She is the first female surgeon to perform a liver transplant. In the panel discussion she shared that she is currently working for the depolarization of the medical profession and increment in the wages for medical staffs.
Ayushi KC, Founder of Khalisisi was presented an award for entrepreneurship. Khalisisi is a trash collecting company which collects and recycles trash in Kathmandu valley. Ranju Darshana was presented an award for leadership being the youngest mayoral candidate for Bibeksheel Party. Shristi KC, Founder of Blind Rocks received an award for social activism. Blind Rocks is an organization working for people with disabilities. Shailee Basnet, Coordinator of the Seven Summits Women Team received an award for arts. She is a well known stand-up comedian being the first Nepali person to perform at Gotham Comedy Club in New York.
