Kathmandu, Jan 2: A meeting of the fifth academic assembly of the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts is taking place today to discuss the future work plan and policy among other topics.
While addressing the assembly, Minister for Culture Deepak Chandra Amatya said that the government was ready to promote the art sector and the government was preparing a special plan for the same.
He said that the Art is a medium of illuminating the nation; therefore, it should be jointly promoted by the government and private sectors as well.
Chancellor at the Nepal Academy Ganga Prasad Upreti pointed out the need of protecting the arts and artists with the joint efforts of all.
Similarly, chancellor at the Academy of Fine Arts Ragini Upadhyaya said that the fifth academic assembly would make effective policy of the academy in the days ahead.
