Kalaiya,13 March 2015: The final rites of Pooja Shaha, who died after being brutally raped, are yet to be performed. The seven-year-old succumbed to her injuries at Kanti Children’s hospital four days ago.
The locals continue to protest with the body of Shaha at Bharat Chowk of Kalaiya, calling for stringent action against the rapist and due compensation to the bereaved family. As part of the protest, they closed down traffic on the Kalaiya-Birgunj road.
Meanwhile, speaking at a programme held here Friday, Coordinator of the Beti Bachao (Save Daughter) campaign and former CA member Pramod Gupta said the government has not responded positively to the demands and hence the agitation will continue until the demands were met.
