First ever Nepal-India Friendship Film Festival set to Kick off on Nov 14 (with Full Schedule)

Kathmandu, November 10, 2017: The first ever Nepal – India Friendship Film Festival is all set to be organized in the town from Nov 14 – 16, 2017.

Being held with the theme ‘Emerging Trends in Digital Media and Film’, the festival is being organized by RIFF Film Club, the first film club of Rajasthan which bring film makers and film lovers together to enable exchange of information and single window solutions for film industry.

The festival will open on Nov 14 with Nepali film ‘Kalo Pothi’, Nepal’s official selection for Oscar Award last year.

The festival will have a panel discussion ‘Culture and Tourism: Promoting through Cinema’ on the first day in which popular Nepali film director Nischal Basnet among others will be on the panel. Hindi Film ‘Dhanka’ will also be screened on the same day.

Similarly, Hindi Film ‘Aakho Dekhi’ and Nepali documentary ‘Nepal Earthquake’ will be screened on the second day.

Likewise, two panel discussions are to be held on the second day on topics ‘Films and Social Change/Impact’ and ‘Future and Challenges of South Asian Cinema’.

The audiences can enjoy Nepali film ‘White Sun’ and Hindi cinema ‘Parched’ on the third and last day of the festival. A panel discussion on ‘Emerging Trends in Digital Media and Films’ will also be an interesting session on the day.

The festival will conclude on Nov 16 with networking, dinner, and Rajasthani cultural performance.

Through debates and dialogues, presentations and screenings in the festival, the organizers strive to give a deep and penetrating view of the complex society we are living in today.

RIFF International Seminar to be held

On the sidelines of the festival, a seminar will be held on the same theme, ‘Emerging Trends in Digital Media and Film’. The seminar will try to set a positive trend and make the event a tradition in itself. Through the seminar the organizers intend to take a step forward in this direction as the deliberations in the seminar will lead on to some concrete suggestions for future.
