FIVE KILLED IN LANSLIDES IN SHANKHUWASAWA

Kathmandu, August 4: Amidst the surging insurgency he started a challenging tour on a cycle from his home district of Sarlahi to disseminate the message of World Peace and for consolidating the goodwill relations existing between Nepal and India.Bishnu Dev Mahato started his tour on the 13th of the month of Asar in 2053 B.S. with the aim to spread the message of peace and goodwill in Nepal and India. “I have travelled to all the 75 districts of Nepal and most of the provinces of India,” Mahato says with a smile.

In a conversation with RSS today, Mahato opened up his ragged handbag and displayed written evidences and certificates bestowed to him by each of the District Administration Offices he had reached during his cycle tour. “Look, I have certificates of appreciation and support from the DAOs,” he said.Mahato emphasized that his tour was also meant to promote humanity and compassion among the people.

Recalling an unforgettable incident that took place in Assam in 2054 B.S. during the cycle tour, Mahato recounted of an accident in which he sustained bruises in most part of his body. “In Tamil Nadu an unidentified person tricked me and took away the keys of my bicycle but the locals of that area helped me bring it back,” Mahato recalled. Mahato now plans to return to Sarlahi and fix his next destination. “My journey has not ended, it will continue,” Mahato, aged 68, said.

Mahato was born in the month of Mangsir in 2003 B.S. in Atrauli-5 of Sarlahi. He is a father of three daughters. Mahato is S.L.C graduate with second division and affiliated to the Arya Samaj.

Even after travelling almost 55,000 km Mahato still looks vibrant and enthusiastic to continue his cycle tour.
