Flood Swept Away Two lives With It

Khotang, July 26: Parimaya Rai, 40, of Mattim-4 and her 12-year-old daughter Samita are still missing after overnight downpour swept away a temporary hut they were taking shelter in by the local Tawa River in the border of Mattim and Ratanchha VDCs on July 4.

Both of them were working at a paddy field near the river. Armed Police Force Halesi Company Chief Raju Pandey said that a rescue team accompanied by the staff of Disaster Management Team from the capital carried out a weeklong search for the missing.

District Natural Disaster Rescue Committee coordinator and Chief District Officer Govinda Sapkota said that there is very low chance to find them alive but still the search is continued hoping to find them anyways.
