Kathmandu, 2 Jan 2014: Minister for Finance Dr Ramsharan Mahat on Friday urged the entrepreneurs to run business in an environment of transparency and healthy competitiveness.
Speaking at a programme held to mark the 35th annual general assembly of Nepal Retailers’ Association here, Minister Mahat said the entrepreneurs would be given representation in the Revenue Advisory Committee.
He added that threshold would be expanded to further manage the trade carried out by the retailers while pointing out the absence of uniformity in their trade as the difficulty in identifying it.
National Planning Commission member Dr Chandramani Adhikari said the retailers must be service-oriented when purveying food commodities to the consumers.
On the occasion, Nepal Chamber of Commerce Chairman Rajesh Kaji Shrestha and Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Vice Chairman Dineshlal Shrestha called for uniformity in the quality of the product and its price.
Association Chairman Pabitra Bajracharya called on the government to formulate necessary regulation to protect the business of the entrepreneurs.
