Kathmandu, March 3, 2019: FONS successfully conducted Project Sparsh- A touch that defines at Lakhantari Village – Biratnagar with warm presence of 418 participants with majority of women. They successfully initiated the campaign with program based on HIV/AIDS, Sexual Harassment and Women Trafficking.
The participants fully devoted their selves towards the session conducted by interns of FONS. The foundation also conducted free condom distribution program. Prior to that, the foundation conducted a session to lighten up the participants on use of condom.
The participants were happy to experience the program and have shared their feedback that has made the program a successful one. The interns of the foundation also visited people to their houses who couldn’t make it for the event.
One-to-one conversation and local language helped the people of Lakhantari who claimed that they never heard about HIV! The people are day-based labors and did not have time to even care about such things.
People took sexual activities as social norms than a basic need and weren’t able to talk about condom easily. But after the session, participants were open to talk about it and have shared that from now they will say “YES TO CONDOM!”
