Foo Fighters Perform New Single ‘Something From Nothing’ Live

October 18,2014:Foo Fighters finished their week-long residency on David Letterman’s The Late Show by performing new single ‘Something From Nothing’.

The day after the band revealed their brand new single, Foo Fighters performed the song live for the first time on TV.

 Earlier this week Foo Fighters’ first performance saw them cover ‘War Pigs’ by Black Sabbath while on Tuesday night (October 14) they were joined by Heart’s Ann and Nancy Wilson to play ‘Kick It Out’.

A third appearance on Wednesday saw Tony Joe White joining the band for a cover of his song ‘Polk Salad Annie’ while Thursday saw the band joined by special guest Rick Neilsen of Cheap Trick for a cover of ‘Stiff Competition’.

Foo Fighters’ eighth album, ‘Sonic Highways’, will be released on November 10. As previously revealed to NME, Eagles’ Joe Walsh, Death Cab For Cutie’s Ben Gibbard and Cheap Trick’s Rick Nielsen are among the guests who feature on the record.

Sonic Highways, the documentary which takes viewers behind the scenes as Foo Fighters record their new album in different studios around America, will air in the UK on BBC Four beginning Sunday, October 26. The eight-episode series will then be split between BBC Four and BBC iPlayer, with episodes three to six available exclusively online. The final two episodes will then be shown on BBC Four.
