Ratnanagar (Chitwan), January 30, 2017: The Sauraha Food Festival is taking place at Sauraha of Ratnangar, Chitwan from February 11, focusing on the Valentine’s Day.
The event organizer, Regional Restaurant and Bar Association of Nepal (Regional REBAN) held a press conference on Sunday making the announcement. The Food Festival will run until February 15 with aim to promote tourism in Sauraha, Festival Coordinator, Naresh Giri said.
The festival is taking place under the slogan, ‘Chitwan Sauraha’s Specialty, its Natural Beauty’, and offering a slew of Nepali and foreign dishes including the local delicacies of the Tharu community.
The restaurants and hotels will offer 15 per cent discount while small tourism entrepreneurs are offering 30 per cent discount throughout the festival period.
A portion of the proceeds generated through the event will be channeled as assistance for differently abled and elderly citizens, management of playing fields, local clubs and Bright Sauraha Programme.
