Kathmandu, Dec 12: A ‘modern food laboratory’ to test the quality of food stuff is to come into operation from mid-April next year.
The laboratory is under construction at the Nepal Food Corporation premises in Bhadrakali plaza. Some 95 per cent of the construction work has been completed and it will come into operation within the next six months, said NFC spokesperson Nawaraj Upadhyaya.
The laboratory is being constructed jointly by the NFC and the District Development Committee Kathmandu with support of the Embassy of India.
The Embassy will be provided necessary equipments for the laboratory while DDC is constructing the laboratory building in the land owned by NFC.
The laboratory will be very useful to check the edibility of any foodstuff, said NFC spokesperson Upadhyaya.
