Jhapa, Oct 11: A former student of the Beldangi-based Bir Amar Singh Higher Secondary School in Jhapa has provided 16 computers for the school.

Former student and local Krishna Prasad Bhattarai said he donated the computers for the school wishing to offer knowledge on information technology to the poor students, mostly the children of brick kiln workers.

Established in 2014 BS, the school has over 700 students, head teacher Yadunath Adhikari said.

Bhattarai said he donated the computers for the school thinking that students of the school would not have to lament for the lack of knowledge on technology.

Bhattarai, living in the USA for job, came to his hometown a month ago.

Handing over the computers to the head teacher, Bhattarai said he was very happy for this opportunity. The computers were handed over in presence of chairman of school management committee Mahabir Chaudhary and assistant district education officer Yubraj Pandey.
