Tilottama (Rupandehi), Sept. 13: Three people were killed when a motorcycle they were riding was hit by a truck here last night.

The deceased have been identified as Bir Bahadur Barmaja,32, of Somadi VDC-1, Palpa, Madhu Rana,37 of Kimdanda VDC-1, Arghakhanchi and his three-year-old daughter Simran. Rana and his daughter were pillion riding. They died on the spot, according to Western Regional Traffic Police Office, Butwal.

The motorcycle (Lu.10Pa.2523) was hit by a truck with Indian registration number UP53)8309 heading towards Sunauli from Bhairahawa in the incident that took place on Saturday night, SP Hariraj Wagley said.

Police have launched a manhunt for the driver who escaped following the incident.

Meanwhile, in Dhading, helper of a truck carrying sand to Kathmandu from Baireni in the district died after the truck (Ba.3Kha.6680) met with an accident this morning at Thakre-9 on the Prithivi Highway.

The deceased has been identified as Suman Bhujel,26, of Kewalpur VDC, according to the Area Police Office in Khanikhola.
