Udayapur, February 18, 2018: In order to ease students’ day to day travel to schools and colleges, Udayapur Chaudandi municipality has provided 50 students of Beltar Basaha municipality with bicycles. Bicycle Distribution Program was started with the budget of the Municipality so that students would not have to face difficulties to go to schools and colleges.
Santosh Subedi, the head of the ward, assumed that with the project of VDC-2, the municipality had distributed each student with bicycles. Furthermore, he added that they are now aiming to distribute two hundred bicycles for free.
Mayor Khagendra Rai stated that around Rs. 4 lakhs has been spent for the distribution of the bicycles, and in the near future the municipality has set a target of distributing bicycles worth Rs. 20 lakhs.
Samjhana Bhujel, a student of Class 11, residing in Beltar Pragati Tol, said that after receiving bicycles distributed by the municipality, she is not facing any sorts of difficulties to travel to college.
Shivraj Rai, a high school student from Beltar, also mentioned the benefits he is receiving after getting the bicycle has led him to study hard. He has vowed to study hard and pay off the help provided by the municipality. Santraj Katalu, one of the locals, said that the education of the children will improve and the feeling of tiredness will decrease with the help of bicycles.
