Free Wi-Fi access in Singha Durbar, Padma Kanya Campus, and Sanchargram Areas

Kathmandu, August 20, 2017: Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) is all set to build Broadband Network and provide internet access connectivity services in Singha Durbar area, Padma Kanya Campus area, and Sanchargram premises.

NTA is the Regulatory body of Telecom Sector in Nepal. On Sunday, August 20, NTA called for proposals for the award of the contract from existing NTA internet service provider licensees to build broadband Network and Provide Internet Access in these places.

As per NTA’s plan of providing free wi-fi connection in various public places across the nation, the service is being rolled out from PK Campus premises, Singha Durbar, and Sanchargram area (Sinamangal) in the first phase, said NTA spokesperson Min Prasad Aryal. If everything goes as planned, the service will come into operation in duration of the next two months.

Prior to this, Nepal Telecom had brought to operation free wi-fi services at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Bir Hospital, Norvic Hospital, and Tribhuvan International Airport area.
