Kathmandu, August 28, 2017: The Gaindakot English School based in Nawalparasi has been conferred the International School Award.
The school was selected the best among a list of 26 schools across the country under the International School Award Project launched by the British Council.
As part of the project, the 26 schools embraced the education system and academic activities of international standards a year ago. The award was conferred on the school on Sunday amidst a programme organized by the British Council, Ministry of Education and Curriculum Development Centre at Sanepa of the Capital.
After conferring the award, British Ambassador to Nepal, Richard Morris, stressed on need for Nepal’s educational institutes to herald a transformation in their teaching methods to prepare students of international caliber.
He added that the UK was ready to coordinate with Nepal Government in the effort. At the award distribution ceremony, all 26 schools gave their presentations.
Gaindakot English School was announced the best again in the presentations.
A micro drama was also staged depicting the worldwide problems by the students of the schools.
Gaindakot School’s Principal, Heeraral Aryal, said the school coordinated with the British Council mindful of the necessity to reform its education system.
