Kathmandu, 7 April, 2015 : The general strike called by the 30-party alliance has affected the general life across the country today.

All the factories and educational institutions in the capital are closed due to the strike.

The banda enforcers have set a motorbike (Ma 1 Pa 184) on fire at Traffic Chowk in Mahendranagar.

Likewise, the people coming home from India are stranded in Mahendranagar due to the strike. However, district coordinator of the 30-party alliance Tekendra Bhatta said that the market area would remain unaffected from the strike as the pilgrims were thronging to Siddhanath Temple.

Likewise, the cadres of the opposition parties vandalized a tanker (Na 4 1962) at Roadshesh in Biratnagar in Morang district.

However, the normal life in Baglung district has not been affected due to the general strike. No effect of strike has been realised here.

UCPN (Maoist) leader Devendra Poudel informed that the opposition alliance has loosened the agitation in the district by considering the upcoming by-election in the Baglung Constituency-1. The by-election at the constituency has been scheduled for April 11.
