Khotang, Nov 10,2014: A girl here has acquired her citizenship in the name of her mother.
This is the first ever case in the district that a citizenship certificate was issued under maternal recognition.
The District Administration Office, Khotang granted the citizenship to Bina Pariyar of Diktel Municipality-9 in the name of her mother Badam Nepali Darjee, according to Chief District Officer Govinda Sapkota.
Lawmaker Saraswoti Bajimaya testified for her citizenship, according to the Office.
