Girls, Let’s Kick Out the Harassment through Self Defense Ability

A Mega Event for girls to make them empowered through self-defense skills

Kathmandu, September 5, 2017: Nowadays, we all are aware of the fact that girls are being harassed here and there by someone. It might be either in broad daylight transports, open spots, and schools or perhaps even inside the family. A considerable number of people are additionally not mindful if they are being harassed or not.

United Nations’ data shows that ‘on average, at least one out of three women in the world are raped or beaten’. It has become an intense issue that ought to be dealt with much vigor. If every one girl out of three is being harassed, then how can we say that we are not being pestered of life and we or our companions or family won’t be harassed?

Thinking of all these consequences, a special program is going to be organized in Kathmandu on September 6, focusing on the girls’ empowerment.

The program is being organized by ‘Girls Kick’, an organization of enthusiastic youths with a long-term vision to empower young women and girls through self-defense training along with informing them about legal provisions. The event is focused on making women fit for guarding themselves against all kinds of dangers, creating an open environment for people to discuss about their issues, and establishing terror free and safe environment for women.

Girls Kick seeks to train at least 100 girls about self-defense and laws, and create a ripple effect where the girls would then make others mindful about the provocation and significance of self-defense.

Master trainers who have the critical ability in martial arts will be training the participants on the occasion. In the two-hours-long program, the participants will be given training on self-defense techniques, and furthermore will be provided knowledge about women’s laws and policies.

Participants for the program have been chosen from distinct schools and free call ups, reaching out to the various places and people.
