Kathmandu 22nd January,2015 : The civil society leaders have appealed to the political parties to give a proper outlet to the country that long has been reeling under the political deadlock.
Participants at the interaction programme organized by the Reporters Club here today spoke of the need to honor the republican values and norms and walk the talk by delivering the constitution as promised the same day last year.
Opining that the political parties overlooked the mandate given by the people, they urged the political parties to further the constitution writing process, keeping the country and the people in the centre stage.
Advocate Dinesh Tripathi argued that the political parties should continue promulgating the constitution through process at the expense of republican norms and values to honor their commitment.
Similarly, echoing with advocate Tripathi, Dr Kedar Narsingh KC, the former Chairperson of Nepal Medical Association, appealed to the political parties to move ahead in the direction of delivering the constitution as per their promise to the people.
Protesting the move of political parties for holding the country hostage of indecision by prolonging the issue of consensus, Dr KC opined that nobody should dare to push country backward in the name of consensus.
At the programme, Kapil Burlakoti and Narayan Khadka of Civil Society, journalist Rishi Dhamala and the like also appealed to the political parties to continue the process of constitution delivery.
