Global Village: AIESEC Nepal’s initiation to bring cross cultural diversity

Kathmandu, February 6, 2018: With the purpose of celebrating cultures around the world and to have an effective cross-cultural exchange, AIESEC Nepal has successfully concluded its event ‘Global Village’ on February 3, 2018, at IOE, Pulchowk Campus.

During the event, the representatives from the five countries-Egypt, China, Colombia, Bulgaria and Taiwan showcased their national tradition and culture. The conveyed entertaining dances and songs, exchanged different varieties of delicious cuisines, wore their traditional garbs and through the verbal and non-verbal exchange of customs.

The event basically made sure that people who had never been to different countries would get to know about the countries through the charts and posters the representatives had presented. The visitors also got souvenirs of these countries.

According to Avini Dixit, Organizing Committee President for the event, “The emotions and affection that was shared among the representatives of various nations proved that the world wants peace and integrity. Events like this should be encouraged because they turn out to be the best examples of unity in diversity. For all the curious people who want to travel the world without spending a fortune from their pockets, a visit to Global Village is a must.”

AIESEC is a youth-based organization that is currently working on SDG goals to ensure that youth come together for peace and fulfillment of humankind’s potentials. Through events like Global Village, the world seems to be a smaller place to live as it encourages social sustainability, world awareness, and cultural understanding. Additionally, people become more accepting and understanding towards each other and their culture that enhances world peace.
