Global Youth Leaders Forum 2017 concludes issuing 13-points declaration

Kathmandu, August 10, 2017: Global Youth Leaders Forum organized on the occasion of International Youth Day 2017 has been concluded in Dhulikhel on Thursday, with the participants emphasizing importance of youths for sustainable peace and development in the nation, and announcing a 13-points declaration.

With a total of 55 youth delegates from around 10 nations, the forum discussed on issues like sustainable development goals, entrepreneurship, youths and migration, youth’s role in nation development, United Nation’s proposed resolution on youth peace and security.

On the occasion, a special session had also been conducted on Child-Friendly Local Governance (CFLG). Experts like Tarak Dhital, Dr. Keshab Bashyal, Milan Dharel Yogendra Shahi, and Ravindra Dhakal had spoken on the session.

Addressing the closing ceremony of the forum, National Youth Council’s Vice President, Madhav Dhungel mentioned, “Youths are the medium for change and their thoughts and initiations lead to the path of prosperity.”

Tilottam Paudel, social leader and President of Jagriti Child and Youth Concern Nepal (JCYCN), stressed that society would move towards prosperity if we can make youths feel responsibility towards the society.

The participating youth delegates were also taken for visits to various touristic destinations around the district.

The program was organized by National Youth Council in collaboration with Jagriti Child and Youth Concern Nepal (JCYCN), YUWALAYA, ESDO Nepal, Track Nepal, Youth Federation for World Peace(YFWP), Sirjanshil Samaj, and Sarokar Samaj Nepal among various other youth organizations.
