Kathmandu, July 13, 2017: Glocal Khabar student reporter Batsala Rajdhami has won the district-level speech contest in Bhaktapur on Wednesday.
Rajdhami bagged the competition organized as part of the Youth Talent Hunt by District Youth Committee’s Office, Bhaktapur.
The speech contest held under the topic ‘Role of Youths for a Prosperous Nepal’ was contested by students from various schools and colleges in the district.
Drona Pokharel, Chief District Officer of Bhaktapur handed her with the certificate of appreciation and a cash prize of Rs. 4000.
“This is the first time I took part in such a district-level competition. Prior to this, I had only participated in Mahakumbha and Kathmandu Debating Championship by Debate Network Nepal. Winning this competition has further encouraged me, and developed confidence in me to put forward my views and opinions in public more effectively,” shared Rajdhami after winning the competition.
She has been associated with Glocal Khabar for the last six months and written many feature stories on youth and entrepreneurship for the publication. She is currently studying in class 12 at Modern Boarding Higher Secondary School, Bhaktapur.
